Our Story

Founded 2020, at start of Covid, as a company by Simon Hodgkinson and Sarah Labrasca (partner) to support emerging contemporary artists from Central Saint Martins during their isolation. We rapidly expanded and supports a now wider community of post-graduate artists and curators from top London schools with opportunities in their first year(s) of professional practice.

We hold artist/curator led pop-up weekend exhibitions throughout the summer on our unique Slash Arts gallery houseboat in Kings Cross, or elsewhere London, where we always receive a high number of visitors. We support contemporary visual arts in all media, including painting, digital, performance, immersive and installation art, as well as fashion and music (we use the boat roof as a stage).

When possible we sponsor initiatives that are socially or environmentally engaged. We favour experimental work. We also support artists with residencies in the UK and abroad. Last year our artists worked with mentally ill patients in Portugal to create a mural in a park in Sintra. We held a show for the COP26 Climate Change Conference. With Sothebys we auctioned donated works to raise £20k for Ukraine.
